At ITMA 2015, Marzoli, a company of the Camozzi Group, and Microsoft presented the first innovative technologies, result of a new partnership with the aim to promote Industry 4.0 in Italy.

The first applications of the MRM-Marzoli Remote Maintenance solution were presented, installed in pilot facilities in Italy and Turkey, in which “smart” components are integrated and transmit data and useful information online in order to increase the efficiency of the facilities and to perform predictive maintenance avoiding breakdowns and downtime.

The new solution developed by the Camozzi Digital division represents an important step towards a wide digitalization process that puts the company at the forefront to seize all the opportunities of the new Microsoft technologies. The Azure platform and Cortana Analytics suite of Microsoft have been employed to make the solutions work in the cloud.

Our group counts many souls and in 2012, we have created Camozzi Digital in order to develop next-generation products,” Lodovico Camozzi, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Camozzi Group explained.

In the coming years, the group will have more smart components interconnected. “The possibility to have a wealth of data at one’s disposal will allow us to manage the different production phases in the best way possible, and to monitor all significant parameters anytime and anywhere, making use of mobile devices,” continued Mr Camozzi.

To this aim we created our solutions from an IoT point of view: on one hand the above mentioned MRM, for the management of predictive maintenance and remote monitoring, on the other hand Yarnet - Marzoli Production Management, a management system that optimizes textile production flows and times.

We are very pleased to announce an operative project of an Italian client of ours for the first time in the world of IoT and Industry 4.0. The goal is to insert processors and sensors in instruments, in this case in the textile machinery, making them smarter in all their functions, as well as in the finished products,” he said.

Andrea Cardillo, Manager of the Cloud & Enterprise Division of Microsoft for Italy, said that the world of IoT solutions is growing very rapidly; every month there are 90,000 new Azure clients with 500 million users worldwide and already today 1,5 million servers operate on the Azure platform, processing 1,5 trillion of messages and filing 777 trillion of transactions every day.

Successful showing

ITMA Milan 2015 has been “a great success” for Marzoli, which received more than 3,000 visitors from over 80 countries. Several contracts were finalized with major clients and, above all, a great deal of interest towards Marzoli machines and innovations, the company reported after the show.

Apart from the MRM-Marzoli Remote Maintenance platform, other products showcased included:

The Marzoli C701 card.

- Marzoli C701 card, the carding machine with an active surface of 3.74 sqm and with an innovative geometry that can reach high production levels with low peripheral speed of the main cylinder for lower stress on the fibers and less wear of the carding flats.

- The new Marzoli CM7 LP Comber which, thanks to a completely revised kinematics and lighter materials (e.g. aluminum and titanium), can reach a mechanical speed of 600 nips per minute and production levels up to 85 Kg/h. Circular and top combs, thanks to their highly advanced technology and the auto-cleaning system of the top comb, guarantee leading quality performance with a substantial reduction of IPI values. The CM7 LP comber can also be equipped with a cutting-edge automatic lap piecing technology that allows to reliably substitute the empty tubes with the new laps, to piece them and to restart the machine in less than 2 and a half minutes without any human intervention.

- The new Marzoli Integrated Transport System. The product is available in two versions: the MTR (Marzoli random transport) and the MTT (Marzoli block creeling solution), with trolley trains that can also enter the doffer rail of the new FT60 and FT70 roving frames and the creel of spinning frames.
