From May 14 to 17, Techtextil  2019 will bring together more exhibitors from even more countries than before in Frankfurt, Germany to present technical textiles for all applications.

BMSvision’s focus at the show will be on camera-driven ON-LOOM inspection systems, Industry 4.0 and mobile MES solutions.

BMSvision has been a pioneer in the field of on-loom quality control for weaving mills with its CYCLOPS system. With its new product ARGUS, BMSvision again pushes the boundaries of automatic on loom inspection. A system capable of inspecting unicolor Jacquard fabrics is now available for weavers of top quality products, such as OPW airbags, mattress ticking.

With BI Connect, an optional extension to the BMS reporting tool, all data in the BMS data base is available for use in standard business analysis tools. With these tools, the user can freely search and explore across all data, instantly pivoting his analysis when new ideas surface. Innovative visualizations put all data in the right context allowing fast and smart decisions.

In addition, the company will present the MyMES, which is an App available for both Android and iOS and includes a cockpit and an alert module. The cockpit shows the KPI’s and important production and quality data of the plant while the alert module highlights problem areas that need immediate attention.

BRÜCKNER will present a new BRÜCKNER SUPRA-FLOW BA air-through thermofusion oven. It is designed to guarantee a particularly gentle transport of the unbonded web. This is achieved by a sophisticated air circulation design.

It is also characterised by minimum heat consumption, high flow uniformity and constant temperature distribution over the entire working width. The good accessibility of the oven chamber leads to a high maintenance friendliness.

The dryer is available in working widths up to 4600 mm. It is designed for production speeds of up to 250 m/min and thus offers potential for line optimization.

Typical end products, which are bonded on the BRÜCKNER SUPRA-FLOW BA high-end thermofusion oven according to the air-through principle, are nonwovens for diapers, nonwovens for feminine care and incontinence products but also filter nonwovens and special nonwovens.

Another innovation to be introduced is the BRÜCKNER SUPRA-FLOW BX double belt dryer. The SUPRA-FLOW BX is particularly suitable for products with a higher weight, thickness and/or density and relatively high pressure losses during the flow through the product.

The following processes can be implemented on the system: Thermofusion, heat-setting and drying. The SUPRA-FLOW BX is of particular interest to manufacturers of mattresses, duvets, inserts, insulation, furniture, automotive components, thermal and acoustic insulation in the construction industry and carrier materials .

Conductive warp-knitted textile from the TEXTILE CIRCUIT platform.

KARL MAYER will showcase warp-knitted textiles which have an exceptional level of performance at its booth. Textiles with an excellent performance and lower manufacturing costs can be produced by combining the possibilities of additive production with warp knitting technology. Examples of this include warp knits functionalised by 3D printing and these are being presented at Techtextil.

KARL MAYER has grouped together all its activities relating to the use of new technologies and innovative products under the concept of RAPID TEXTILE. They form part of the TEXTILE MAKERSPACE system, a platform that offers the space to try things out, develop new products and think outside the box.

Electrically conductive textiles are a hot topic at the moment and can be produced in a variety of different ways. The easiest method is to directly incorporate conductive yarns during fabric production on the machine.

TEXTILE CIRCUIT, another element of TEXTILE MAKERSPACE, shows the potential of warp knitting here. Conductive zones offering maximum flexibility in terms of geometry, dimensions and location can be produced on KARL MAYER’s multibar raschel machines. Examples include inductive charging stations and the remote control of robots, and these are being demonstrated at Techtextil.

In addition, double-bar raschel machines have become firmly established in the production of warp-knitted spacer textiles featuring a variety of designs. A new model is now enabling completely new designs to be produced, i.e. warp-knitted textiles with decorative, relief surfaces.

Instead of the spacer layer, three-dimensional design elements are worked on the upper and lower sides. The designs can be shaped and positioned almost without any restrictions, and can be combined with openwork designs. This is opening up a new dimension in near-net-shaped production in particular.

Burglars frequently use chainsaws and drills during attempted break-ins, but they can be stopped effectively by a new type of patented security panel with weft-inserted warp-knitted textiles in the core.

On contact with the cut-resistant textiles, the rotating tools quickly release large amounts of fibres from the material. These become entangled and the tool is stopped. The highly effective security panels are also very light and can be applied very easily to e.g. security doors, armoured vehicles, vaults and cash machines.
